Hank's cousin Judith Ann is an excellent cook, and doesn't let Hank forget it, but when Hank enters a cooking competition with her, he finds out that they have more in common than he thought.
Hank is nothing like his cousin Judith Ann. When she comes to stay with the Zipzer family while taking part in a junior chef cooking competition, she gives off an air of perfection—she's precise, well mannered, and a very high-end cook. She doesn't let Hank forget it, either. Nor does she hesitate to insult his cooking skills. To prove her wrong, Hank decides to enter the competition, too. Surprisingly, the judges love his dish, and Hank and his cousin are named the two finalists. The night before the final cook-off, Judith Ann frantically practices in the kitchen when Hank accidentally spills something, ruining her recipe. It's too much for her to take, and Judith Ann breaks into tears. She confesses that she really wants to win the prize—a guest spot on the adult cooking show—because she isn't good at anything else. She has trouble in school, just like Hank! In the end, Hank throws the competition on purpose and the victorious Judith Ann asks Hank to be her guest at the taping of the TV show.
