Rita Williams-Garcia’s most beloved and award-winning middle grade novel, about three sisters who travel to Oakland in 1968 to meet the mother who abandoned them, is now available in a Spanish-language paperback, with a translation by Yvette Torres, a professor at the University of Puerto Rico Translation Department. The novel was a Newbery Honor Book and a National Book Award finalist and won the Coretta Scott King Award and the Scott O'Dell Award.
