Reading Is Fundamental’s 2013-2014 Multicultural STEAM Book Collection is a superb assortment of 40 expert-selected children’s books for grades PreK-5 that emphasize the integration of the arts with STEM learning (science, technology, engineering and math). Each book in the collection was carefully reviewed and selected by RIF’s Literacy Services team with guidelines provided by RIF’s Literature Advisory Board and Multicultural Advisory Committee.

First Book is thrilled to be carrying Reading Is Fundamental’s 2013-2014 Multicultural STEAM Book Collection – a superb assortment of 40 expert-selected children’s books for grades PreK-5 that emphasize the integration of the arts with STEM learning (science, technology, engineering and math). Each book in the collection was carefully reviewed and selected by RIF’s Literacy Services team with guidelines provided by RIF’s Literature Advisory Board and Multicultural Advisory Committee, national panels of educators and experts in books for children.

This rich assortment of high-quality titles (most of them hardcovers) includes a diverse mix of fiction and nonfiction designed to educate, entertain, and inspire growing readers. Most of these books are terrific for use as read-alouds, and many make great mentor texts. Sharing these books with your students will expand their vocabularies, increase their knowledge of the world, improve their visual literacy skills, and help them become creative problem-solvers.
