Eleven-year old Cammy has a special place in her heart for her beloved grandmother, Gram Tut. When her "perfect" cousin Patty Ann tells Cammy that Gram Tut will probably die soon, Cammy reacts in a meanspirited manner, wishing that something bad could happen to Patty Ann instead. Patty Ann is involved in a tragic accident, and Cammy's guilt is almost more than she can bear. In the end, Cammy finds the strength she needs in her family.
