Government leaders forced the Ojibwe to live on reservations, sent Ojibwe children to boarding schools, and made them give up their language and traditions. In spite of many hardships, the Ojibwe have maintained their proud heritage. They enjoy a thriving modern community while honoring traditions of the past.
